One of the top online software developers, Net Entertainment, has for the first time in its history entered into a deal that will see it create Casino games for the land-based sector. The news comes as NetEnt signs a deal with gambling and Casino giants William Hill to create the software for machines inside the betting shops.
This new partnership is NetEnt’s first land-based Casino game partnership and comes on the back of previous deals whereby NetEnt has created the software for many of William Hill’s online Casino games.
Consequently from this deal, NetEnt will be designing and developing the Casino games for many of William Hill’s 2,300 high street betting shops. William Hill is one of the largest betting operators in the UK so NetEnt is taking more than just a few tiny steps into the land-based Casino industry.
It is fairly unusual for online Casino developers to enter the land-based Casino game market; more frequently it is the land-based software companies who have transitioned into the growing online Casino market and not the other way around.
Bjorn Krantz spoke on behalf of Net Entertainment to express the excitement of both parties on the new partnership, explaining, “The deal will allow Net Entertainment to maximise its distribution reach through William Hill’s major channels which includes retail, online and mobile.”
Following the announcement of the new deal between William Hill and Net Entertainment, shares in Net Entertainment rose by nearly 1% on the Stockholm exchange, suggesting enormous market support for the Casino gaming partnership.
